My Feline Friends.

Anyone who knows me, knows I adore cats. Whether it is a Lion or a Cheetah; domestic moggy or pedigree; long haired or short - I  love them all! And it is a good job, as I have three. See, me and my sister do this thing, we bring animals home without asking but I cannot help myself! My first cat I brought home from work and as for Lyra and Binky, well they have just been after work surprises for my boyfriend haha!

My feline of choice is the tabby. Striped like a tiger but luckily a lot more friendly! I have three tiny tigers. Let me tell you a little about them.

Hunter is the oldest of my three and the only male. Head like a boulder, heart like a marshmallow - his tummy is heading that way too! For a cat, at around a stone in weight, he looks tough and a bit of a brute but he is nothing but a big softy! His favourite friend is my boyfriend much to my annoyance - they seem to have a bit of a bromance. Hunter is my 'Italian' cat after I adopted him from an Italian family. This has always given me amusement due to his favourite food being pizza and cold tomato soup. It has to be Heinz!

Lyra or Beans as she is more commonly known around the house, is the middle child. 1 year old and the most anti-social yet most lively of the bunch. Through no fault of her own, she is shy but once you have earned her trust, she is very affectionate. She is also a very clever cat as she fetches like a dog. Yeah, like a dog! You throw, she chases and brings back for another go.

And finally, the newest ball of fluff to join the gang is Binky Beau. Oh, my heart just melts! She is truly adorable (they all are). Currently 8 weeks old and very fluffy. She is full of fun and really sociable. It is her first full day in her new home but she has settled in so well. It is a shame Hunter and Lyra aren't so keen on her because all she wants to do is play but in time, they will come round. Binky has already established her presence by sleeping in my bed but I really do not mind waking up to her wee furry face. She is just too cute.

Whether you are a cat lover or hater, most people have a pet or a companion at home and can appreciate what an integral part of the family they are. I adore my little kitties and my house would not feel like a home without them.

LOVE!

Fantastic Florals.

picture created at polyvore.com

Everyone knows that florals are a key trend throughout spring-summer but this year they are set to stroll straight through to autumn-winter, with darker base tones. So, by making a purchase now you are ensuring a trend-transitioning investment!
The great thing is that with minimum effort you get maximum results - Easy to wear; eye-catching, bold, feminine and colourful!

This floral kimono from Warehouse (£42) is stunning! Paired as above with Topshop satin skorts, makes for a refined evening look; or throw it over a vest top with some jeans for casual yet trendy daywear.

I'm a little bit obsessed with florals at the moment and recently bought a black maxi dress from Red Herring at www.debenhams.com .. with 20% at the moment it was a steal!

this photograph belongs to Debenhams at www.debenhams.com.

I'm thinking of wearing this with sandals and a leather jacket for a daytime through to evening look.

What floats your floral fancy?

Love!

Topic Tropic.

As great as it would be, to book a flight on those wet, grey days; to some remote Pacific island just to bask in the midday sun under an empty blue sky, piƱa colada in  hand - we can't. But we can invest in a little piece of paradise at home. Whatever the weather it's easy to inject so summer zest into your day. Tropical print is huge right now and teamed with some killer colour pop, you're set to have a sunny day!

My Nature Date.

Today has been a good day. Nothing beats getting outside in the fresh air and enjoying the great outdoors.

I guess my love for the outdoors stems from growing up near Balgonie Castle, which is located not too far from my home village. Numerous evenings were spent climbing trees; riding my bike around the house pretending I was Frankie Dettori; using the jam jars from the Big End to entrap bees and house butterflies. Runs in the car with my granddad, up some farm road with my head out the sunroof, my hair flying about shouting 'faster! faster!'. Maybe, just getting to wander through the corn fields or exploring the riverside has given me a sense of freedom which now I cannot ignore.

Admittedly, I have to be in the 'mood' for outdoor activities. My poor gran, forever trying to entice me up some blinkin' hill! Every summer for two weeks Ardtoe was our home. Oh the mischief we used to get up too! It was customary, our tradition to climb the cairn but the older I got, the more reluctant I was!

Really, looking back now with maturity on my side, I know why my gran was always so persistent - the world is such a beautiful place with the extra bonus that the exercise is good for you! I have such an appreciation and admiration for the outdoors nowadays. Everything seems so peaceful, quiet, simple.
All you to do is stick a couple sandwiches in a backpack, put on a pair of boots and head out on an adventure.

There is a lot of interesting and inspiring things out there. Today was just a beautiful day with some gorgeous company.

Take a look at what inspired me today..

Mint Madness.

I wouldn't go as far as saying obsessed.. hmm.. well, let's say very fond of; that's how I'd describe my like for mint pastel green at the moment. It hasn't been a conscious decision but it's definitely been a recurrent theme throughout my purchases recently; socks, nail polish, bag, top, skirt - OK, bit much but I adore it!

So, with mint on my mind I put together this gorgeous summer outfit for my holiday; I can't wait to wear it!

Green Eyes. Green Buys.

So summer is officially here, finally! Typically, my purchase of the month is a sweater - fine knit though so it's not completely ridiculous but I could not resist the fluorescent green when I strolled into H&M on Buchanan St, Glasgow, last week. And at £7.99, that sealed the deal!

Thin Fine Knit Jumper (white) - H&M £7.99 (photo belongs to h&m.com)

As you can see, I've been adding this splash of colour to several of my summer outfits. Today I wore it casually over my pineapple print body-con, also from H&M (another steal at £6.99!) with coral sandals and a bright blue bag.

Ultimately, it wears well with anything - jeans, skirts, shorts and dresses. The energetic burst of colour is well suited for the sunshine and it never fails to add some brightness to my day if the sun gets a little shy.
